Notice – NTG Synapse PACS Upgrade and Access Changes

As part of NTG’s Imaging Modernisation Program, the Synapse Picture Archiving and Communication System (PACS) will be upgraded from version 5.7 to version 7.4.

This upgrade introduces enhanced security features and a new web address.

New PACS Link (Temporary External Access)

External users can continue to access PACS using the new link until 5 December 2025:

https://pacs.health.nt.gov.au/synapse

What’s Changing

• The current site https://ntpacs.nt.gov.au/Synapse is being retired.
• External direct access will cease on 5 December 2025.
• After this date, PACS will only be accessible externally through AccessNTG, using NTG credentials and Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA).

Need Continued External Access After 5 December?

Please email MedicalImaging.DoH@nt.gov.au with the following details:

• Full name and organisation
• Contact details
• Current AHPRA registration

Once verified, new secure access arrangements will be coordinated.

Kindly note, the same secure access model will apply to Synapse RIS when it is upgraded.
